Nuclear Medicine

Walla Walla Clinic offers nuclear medicine, a medical imaging specialty that uses particular substances (FDA approved) that travel to targeted areas of the body. Nuclear medicine represents a painless and commonly performed procedure that helps your doctor diagnose the cause of your symptoms.

To obtain pictures or provide treatment, a small amount of radioactive material is either injected into a vein or swallowed in a capsule. Walla Walla Clinic performs many types of nuclear medicine scans.

IMPORTANT: Due to isotope costs, patients who do not give 24 hours advance notice of cancellation for nuclear cardiology perfusion studies will be charged for the isotope.
