Speech-Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology department performs evaluation and speech therapy treatment for children and adults with communication and swallow impairments.

Pediatric Services Include Evaluation and Treatment of:

• Articulation and phonology disorders: reduced intelligibility of speech
• Delayed receptive and expressive language
• Non-verbal child secondary to autism
• Childhood apraxia of speech
• Stuttering

Adult Services Include Evaluation and Treatment of:

• Difficulty swallowing: oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal dysphagia. Clinical evaluation and video swallow studies.
• Voice disorders including vocal nodules, dysphonia
• Voice/Speech impairment related to Parkinson's Disease
• Speech/Language disorders following stroke: aphasia, apraxia of speech, and dysarthria.
• Cognitive/memory impairment: head injury, neurological disorders
• Stuttering

Evelyn Boyd, M.A., CCC-SLP, holds a Master's degree in Communication Disorders from Northern Michigan University. She has more than 30 years experience in a variety of settings including private practice, school district, skilled nursing facility, hospital inpatient and outpatient, and home health. She is certified in LSVT Loud voice treatment for Parkinson's. Before coming to Walla Walla Clinic, Evelyn worked as speech therapist and manager of the Rehab Department at Walla Walla General Hospital.
