Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic audiometric tests for all ages
  • Conduct auditory brainstem response (ABR) evaluations
  • Complete evaluations for failed newborn hearing screenings
  • Communicate test results, diagnoses, and proposed treatments, so patients and parents clearly understand the situation and options. Refer to specialists as needed.
  • Make ear impressions, ear molds and order appropriate hearing devices
  • Fit and dispense traditional hearing aids and bone anchored hearing aids for pediatric and adult patients
  • Counsel patients and their families on communication strategies to minimize the effect of hearing loss
  • Lead an aural rehab class every other month
  • See patients regularly to maintain hearing devices
  • Keep electronic records on the progress of patients

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  1. Graduated from an accredited Audiology program
  2. Currently licensed in the State of Washington
  3. Ability to manage a fast paced work environment
  4. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of service excellence and organizational values
  5. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Physical demands: Lifting, reaching, standing, walking, typing
