Description:

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Register new patients with accurate patient and insurance information and update existing accounts as needed, utilizing special software and procedures.
  2. Answer incoming phone calls and complete phone registrations & assist patients in establishing with Primary Care Physicians, including provider requirements. Schedule as appropriate per provider requirements.
  3. Greet and assist patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and complete in person registrations & schedule as appropriate per provider requirements.
  4. Maneuver multiple specialty systems, online websites and software to find and verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  5. Invite and enroll patients to patient portal, explaining the benefits.
  6. Detail benefits to patients of pre-visit check-in, rescheduling tasks for sooner scheduling, as well as automated reminder and Outreach contact
  7. Assist desk receptionists with overflow duties of printing and mailing communication to patients, appointment confirmations, processing electronic faxes and scanned documents, and processing and reassigning incoming document tasks.
  8. Take concise, accurate phone messages, execute solutions and/or forward via electronic tasking as appropriate.
  9. Fax and/or scan confidential patient information.
  10. Process phone calls, accessing unfished calls, use a text template, view task list, work task list, create new task and other competencies as required by department.
  11. Communicate with physicians and nurses to create an efficient work environment
  12. Train other registrar receptionists when necessary
  13. Using EHR software, accurately index and file scanned documents and information into patient’s electronic medical record.
  14. Protect the confidentiality of patient’s personal, financial, and medical information
  15. Other duties as assigned by the department manager, lead receptionist or physician

  14. Strong computer skills and comfortable working in paperless environment
  15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  16. Good physical condition, able to stand, walk, sit, bend and lift 15-20 lbs
